What we do

One call covers the whole job, from a single dead tree to a yard full of overgrown limbs and old stumps.

Tree removal

Dead, leaning or simply in the way. Trees near the house, fence or wires are taken down in sections and lowered by rope.

Trimming & pruning

Get limbs off the roof, raise the canopy over the driveway and take out deadwood before a storm brings it down.

Tree trimming →

Stump grinding

Grind old stumps below the surface so you can mow, plant or lay sod right over the spot.

Stump grinding →

Storm damage

A tree or big limb down on the house, car or driveway after wind, ice or heavy snow.

Have an ash tree? Check it this year.

Emerald ash borer was first found in Onondaga County in 2013, in a trap near Carrier Circle in DeWitt, a few miles from Fayetteville. The beetle kills almost every ash tree it reaches unless the tree is treated.

Dead ash dries out and turns brittle, so it gets harder and riskier to take down the longer it stands. Warning signs: a thinning crown, small D-shaped holes in the bark, strips of bark flaked off by woodpeckers, and shoots sprouting from the trunk.

Street tree or yours? Know before you call.

Trees near the road may sit in the town or village right-of-way. In the Town of Manlius that strip runs roughly 25–30 feet from the center of the road, and the Town asks residents to report dead or dying roadside trees to 315-656-3090.

In the Village of Fayetteville, street trees belong to the village, and residents aren't allowed to remove or prune them.

Common questions

How much does tree removal cost in Manlius?
Most single-tree removals in the Syracuse area cost between about $420 and $1,840, with an average around $860, according to This Old House's local cost data. Size, what's underneath the tree and whether it's dead all change the price. See our Manlius tree removal cost guide.
Will the Town pick up the brush after a tree comes down?
Usually not all of it. The Town brush district only takes branches up to 5 feet long and 3 inches thick, never stumps, and contractor brush isn't accepted at the Highway Department drop-off. Make sure haul-away is included in your estimate. Brush rules →
